The thought occurred to me that it might be helpful to provide a downloadable dictionary/glossary of mapping terms and cartography definitions for our members to have handy. Over the next few weeks I will be posting useful roundups of web mapping and cartography tools from around the web and these terms may come in handy.

If you have been looking for a place to embed and share your survey maps, web-based cartography experiments using survey data or would just like to explore the vast amount of information regarding web mapping, well that is what this new extension of Land Surveyors United is all about.  Nevertheless, you may be interested in where we are coming from and what brought about the idea to create this new place for Surveyor related Maps and resources.  Well, it all started with a group hub on the network called Map Share.
